Shipping Policy
This delivery guide for home decor orders explains the facts that apply at Bright Nook. the points below follow directly from how carriers scan, route and price a parcel.
The shipping area, as it actually works
Any address entered at checkout can receive a parcel if the customer is willing to pay an additional delivery fee.
The checkout validates the destination before an order is created, so a location outside the served region cannot be made eligible by adding money or requesting a carrier exception.
The service boundary is simple: We deliver within the United States only; an address anywhere else is refused at the border, so please confirm the country before you order.
The address check uses the destination entered in the checkout rather than the billing address attached to a card. A customer may therefore pay from one country while receiving goods in another, provided the delivery location itself falls inside the supported area. If a forwarding service is used, the order is treated as delivered to the address supplied, and any onward movement is outside the arrangement with Bright Nook.
A destination is either serviceable when the order is placed or it is not. There is no provisional status, no waiting list and no way for support staff to override a border restriction after the checkout has rejected the address.
- Delivery eligibility is based on the receiving address, not the billing address.
- A refused destination produces no order and no payment.
- Forwarding addresses remain the customer's responsibility after delivery.
- Questions about a specific address can be sent to [email protected] before ordering.
What happens during packing and processing
An order begins moving through the warehouse the instant the payment screen closes, regardless of the hour or the day.
The packing clock follows the published operating schedule. Orders confirmed before 2pm on a working day are prepared the next business day, while later confirmations move to the following working day.
The warehouse operates Monday to Friday. It does not treat weekends, public holidays or the overnight period as ordinary working time, so an order placed at midnight does not somehow gain several hours of progress before staff return. The confirmation timestamp in the order record determines whether the cutoff has been met.
Payment review can also affect the sequence. A routine verification may briefly hold an order, and the packing estimate restarts once that check clears. Customers are contacted when a review changes the expected dispatch date. This differs from a delay after packing, when the parcel already has a carrier label and can be tracked through the delivery network.
Bulkier kits, liquid materials and multi-box orders can require additional handling. When that adds a working day, the revised estimate is communicated rather than hidden behind a generic status.
- The published cutoff is 2pm.
- The normal dispatch target is the next business day.
- Operating days are Monday to Friday.
- A payment review can shift the packing clock until it is cleared.
Delivery and transit, without the guesswork
The delivery countdown starts when the order is confirmed and pauses whenever tracking stops refreshing.
Transit is measured from the carrier's first physical scan and normally runs for 3 to 5 business days, excluding public holidays. A quiet tracking page does not stop the clock or extend the quoted window.
Carrier arrangements are fixed when the parcel enters the network: One national carrier handles every parcel. A request for a different service level after collection cannot be honored.
Remote towns, island routes and weather-affected regions often sit near the slower end of the estimate. The quoted period is a service expectation rather than an unconditional guarantee, because road closures and sorting backlogs occur outside the control of Bright Nook. If a delivery promise is tied to an event, it is safer to ask before ordering than to assume that every route will finish on its fastest day.
A parcel that misses the expected window may still be moving normally. The useful next step is to allow the stated transit period to finish, then contact [email protected] with the order reference if the tracking record still shows no progress.
- Transit begins with the first carrier scan.
- The standard estimate is 3 to 5 business days.
- Remote routes may need the full window.
- No progress after the quoted period can be raised with [email protected].
Shipping cost and the charges that apply
Shipping is always free, or alternatively every order carries a separate handling charge based on its weight.
Standard delivery is free when the merchandise total reaches $45 before tax. Below that amount, one flat shipping rate is shown at checkout; no separate handling fee is added.
The threshold is measured on merchandise after any valid discount but before tax, and not on the final total that includes shipping. That distinction matters when a basket sits a few dollars short of the line. Adding an eligible item can move the order above the threshold, while tax alone will not.
The checkout rate is the authoritative figure. If a display elsewhere appears to conflict with the amount confirmed on the payment screen, the confirmed checkout amount governs. Rates may be revised for future orders, but a completed order keeps the shipping figure that was accepted when it was placed.
There is no per-item surcharge, no package-count fee and no premium delivery tier available for purchase after checkout.
- The free-shipping threshold is $45 before tax.
- Below the threshold, checkout applies one flat rate.
- Handling, package-count and per-item fees are not added.
- The amount accepted at checkout controls the completed order.
Tracking updates and what they show
A tracking number should show continuous movement from the moment it is issued, and a gap in updates means the parcel is lost.
A label can be created before the carrier collects the parcel, and scans appear only when the shipment reaches a processing point. A gap between scans is common and does not by itself establish loss.
The tracking link is sent after dispatch, usually once the first carrier event is recorded. Early entries may show that a label was created while the parcel is still awaiting collection or sorting. Later, movement can pause over a weekend, during a holiday or while a container travels between regional hubs.
A trace becomes useful when the parcel has clearly stopped progressing. Contact [email protected] with the order reference if there has been no new event for two working days, or if the tracking status says the shipment is delayed beyond the expected arrival. Bright Nook can open a carrier inquiry and share the response, but cannot fabricate a scan or force a package through a backlog.
The carrier's final delivery record is also used when a parcel is reported as delivered but cannot be found. Check the property, neighbors and any safe-place instructions before asking for an investigation.
- A tracking number may exist before the carrier collects the parcel.
- Scan gaps over weekends and between hubs are normal.
- No movement for two working days can justify a trace.
- A delivered status is reviewed with the carrier before any replacement is agreed.
Damaged, delayed or missing parcels
A damaged or missing parcel must be resolved with the carrier directly because the customer owns the delivery contract.
The carrier account belongs to Bright Nook, so a delivery investigation is opened from this side after the customer provides the order details and supporting photographs.
Report visible damage, missing contents or an incorrect item promptly, and keep the outer packaging until the claim is closed. Carrier forms often request images of the box, label, inner protection and affected product. Describing the problem in an email is helpful, but photographs usually allow the claim to move without a second round of questions.
A delay is handled differently from a loss. If tracking is still advancing, the first step is to wait through the quoted 3 to 5 business days. If it has stopped, a trace can be opened. Where the carrier confirms loss, Bright Nook offers a replacement when stock allows or a refund when it does not.
Nothing is gained by discarding the packaging before inspection. The outer carton is evidence, even when the product inside appears to be the only item affected.
- Damage or shortage should be reported with photographs.
- Keep the shipping carton until the claim is closed.
- Bright Nook opens the carrier investigation.
- A confirmed loss leads to a replacement or refund.
Address changes once an order is placed
A delivery address can be changed at any point, including after the parcel has been collected, simply by sending a message.
An address can be corrected only while the order is still waiting for collection. Once the first carrier scan occurs, the destination is locked and an onward redirection may not be available.
Send the order reference and the complete corrected address to [email protected] as soon as the mistake is noticed. A partial correction is not enough, because changing only a street number or postal code can create a label that the carrier cannot validate. The request is confirmed by reply before the new address is used.
If a parcel is returned because the address was incomplete, a delivery was refused, or nobody was available to receive it, a second dispatch may be arranged at the customer's expense. Where the error originated with Bright Nook, the replacement is sent without an additional delivery charge.
A carrier-held parcel is not the same as an address correction. Holding a shipment at a depot depends on the carrier's local rules and is not offered for every route.
- Address corrections are possible before the first carrier scan.
- Send the full corrected address and order reference to [email protected].
- After collection, the destination may be fixed.
- A return caused by an incorrect address can make a second dispatch chargeable.
